Smile Design & Veneer Journey

Do I have to pay for the initial exam?

Your complete exam is complimentary if you choose to move forward with your smile design journey. If you decide not to continue after your exam, no problem — you’ll simply be billed for any cleaning, exam, or treatment completed during that visit, just like any regular dental appointment.

Is whitening included?

Yes! Whitening is included in every smile design journey at Rō.

Are the payment stages flexible?

Because each phase of your smile journey involves custom work created just for you, payments for each stage are non-refundable once that stage is completed. We’ve structured payments to match the work being done — so it’s transparent and easy to plan for.

Your remaining treatment balance needs to be settled at least one week before your prep day.

What happens if I don’t like my mock-up?

That’s exactly what the mock-up is for.

This is your chance to see and feel your future smile before anything permanent happens. If it’s not right — we adjust it. We’ll never move forward until you’re happy and have signed off on your mock-up.

How long does it take to get my final veneers?

About two weeks from the time you approve your temporaries.

We like to keep this super clear — you’ll wear your temporaries for about two weeks while the lab is making your final veneers.

How long will I wear my temporaries?

Usually about two weeks.

While you’re wearing your temporaries, our lab will be creating your final veneers. This timing is intentional — it gives you a chance to live in the design, get feedback, and feel confident before we move to your permanent smile.

What if I’m not happy on insert day?

Simple — we won’t cement anything until you (and we) love them.

Insert day is all about trying in your final veneers, checking every detail, and only moving forward once everything feels perfect. If anything isn’t right, we’ll troubleshoot, adjust, or send them back to the lab if needed.

Is the night guard really necessary?

Absolutely — and it’s included in your treatment.

Your night guard protects your new smile while you sleep and is required to maintain your 2-year warranty. We’ll take impressions for your night guard after insert day, once your bite feels great, and it usually takes about a week to make.

What happens if I change my mind partway through?

We understand life happens. Payments for completed stages are non-refundable because of the custom work involved, but if you need to pause or adjust timing, just let us know. We’ll do our best to work with you.

How long does the full process usually take?

Every case is a little different, but here’s a general idea of timing:

  • Stage 1: Exam + Records
1 visit (can be same day or split up into two).

  • Stage 2: 2D Design of your New Smile on your Photo
    About 1 week.

  • Stage 3: Try-In a Mockup of your New Smile
    About 1 week to create.

  • Stage 4: Prep Day → Temporaries
    Worn for about 2 weeks.

  • Stage 5: Final Veneers
    Ready after 2 weeks.

  • Stage 6: Night Guard
Ready about 1 week after insert.

From start to finish, most smile journeys take about 6-8 weeks — depending on how quickly decisions are made and your schedule.

The Alberta Fee Guide

At Ro Dental Studio, we are proud to offer an elevated standard of care, comfort, and aesthetic results. As a boutique dental experience, some of our fees are slightly above the Alberta Dental Association Fee Guide to reflect the time, technology, and team we invest in every appointment.

As a boutique dental office with an elevated experience and many luxurious perks, we have chosen to follow the Alberta dental fee guide for many services, and not for others.

We follow the Alberta dental fee guide for all basic services including checkups, cleanings and X-rays. For some other services we are slightly above the fee guide. And then for other services there is no fee guide, so we set what we feel is a fair price.

We are always transparent about pricing and insurance coverage so please don’t hesitate to ask questions about our fees and your dental benefits.
